Abstract

The purpose of the study was to describe whether the application of the cooperative learning model type two stay two stray can improve the activity and learning outcomes of class VIIIC students of SMP Negeri 1 Merangin. This type of research is classroom action research / CAR, which is an examination of learning activities in the form of an action, which is deliberately raised and occurs in a class together. This research was conducted in class VIII C of Merangin 1 Public Middle School. The research is planned for the odd semester (first semester) 2018/2019 academic year. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII C of SMP Negeri 1 Merangin in the academic year 2018/2019 which amounted to 28 students. This research was conducted in 2 cycles consisting of planning, implementation, evaluation and reflection with 3 evaluations. The instruments used are esay as many as 5 questions, while the data analysis techniques are simple statistics, namely percentage and average learning outcomes. The results of the study in the first cycle were able to average the overall percentage of activities in student learning was 73.19% while in the second cycle the learning activities of students in the average percentage was 85.716%. For student learning outcomes can be obtained in the first cycle the average value of students is 71.25, while in the second cycle the average value of students is 81.07. This shows an increase in student learning outcomes of 9.82 means that the application of the cooperative learning model type TSTS can improve the activities and learning outcomes of students of class VIIIC STATE 1ST SMP Merangin.
