Artikel yang dimuat dapat berbahasa Indonesia atau bahasa Inggris.</p> Studi Populasi dan Habitat Ikan Semah (Tor sp.) di Sungai Napal Licin Kabupaten Merangin 2019-08-07T22:48:12+07:00 Andriyanto <p>The aim of this study was to determine the population abundance, species and habitat of semah fish in Napal Licin River, Merangin District, Jambi Province. This study was conducted in March 2019. Data collection was carried out using the Purposive Random Sampling method in four deliberately determined stations, there are Pulau Kemang, Beringin Sanggul, Bukit Punjung and Sakai. These stations are villages that located in the Napal Licin watershed. The fishs sample were caught using nets, then it were identified in the laboratory. Observation of the semah fish habitat was carried out directly. Water quality parameters ware measured in the site and laboratory. The results showed that population abundance of semah fish at the Napal Licin river was very low, the abundance in the station 1 was 0.03 ind /m<sup>2</sup>, station 3 was 0.06 ind /m<sup>2</sup>, whereas at stations 2 and 4 the abundance were 0, 00 ind/m<sup>2</sup> because there are no semah fish found. The frequency of attendance&nbsp; category of semah fish at the Napal Licin river was very rare, at station 1 the frequency of attendance was 5.5%, station 3 was 11.1% while in station 2 and 4 the frequency of attendance were 0%. The Semah fish species that obtained only 1 species, Tor Tambroides. The forest plant has the potential as an ornamental plant is currently in great demand by the community. In addition to decorating homes or garden filler elements, ornamental plants have developed as export commodities. Exploration activities are proclaiming one of the first steps in the efforts of the conservative tumbling which began to be threatened by the great auction of building auctioneers and the development of industrial plants. This research is descriptive explorative with the roaming method represented randomly. The main place for producing spearmint oil is leaves. To improve the quality of&nbsp; leaves can&nbsp; be achieved by increasing the size of&nbsp; leaf cells through the&nbsp; polyploidization&nbsp; technique with natural mutagen that is ethanolic extract of&nbsp; Tapak dara leaf. This research is an experimental research with Completely Randomized Design with ethanolic extract concentration of 0,1% with application frequency which were 2 drop per day for a day, 2 drop per day for 2 days, and 2 drop per day for 3 days. The observed parameters were number of shoot, number of leaf, stem diameter, leaf area and stem height. Based on the observations, application of ethanolic extract concentration of 0,1% with application frequency 2 drop for a day and 2 drop for 2 days against real controls on the number of root and leaf area parameter. But the benefits of vegetables will not be useful if the vegetables contain E. coli bacteria that enter the digestive tract. The study is a laboratory descriptive experimental research. The study was conducted at a street , treders pecel lele found on Bangko City's Sumatra Cross Road. The number of samples in this study were 13 street treders selling pecel lele. Sample examination was carried out in the STKIP YPM Bangko Biology Education Laboratory. Data were analyzed by univariate. The purpose of study was to determine and describe the siamang population based on the size of the group, the composition of age and sexual rasio in the forest of Adat Guguk Merangin Regency, Jambi Province. The method used is a concentreated area method with three observation stations and used the Rappid Assesment to record food and rest vegetation of siamang. Data was analyzed descriptively. The result showed that the siamang group found in the study area were 2 groups (5 individuals ) and 1 solitary male. The distribution of age classes in the individual adult phase is 5 individuals the sapling phase was 1 individual and the baby phase werw not found in the siamang group in the hutan Adat Guguk. The seksual ratio value of the siamang group in the adult phase is 1:1, for the solitary male the sexual ratio is 1:0 and ato the juvenile&nbsp; phase could not identyfied the sex of simang because the sexual chaarteristic of had not developed perfectly.</p> 2019-06-20T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2019 BIOCOLONY Keanekaragaman Jenis Semut (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) di Hutan Adat Guguk Kabupaten Mrangin Provinsi Jambi 2019-08-07T17:35:49+07:00 Fajar Ahmad Apriza Hongko Putra Rivo Yulse Viza <p><em>This study aims to determine the diversity of ants in Hutan Adat Guguk. Research type applied is descriptive quantitative research. This study was conducted on April 2018, in two stages. The first stages is sampling which is done in the Hutan Adat Guguk by making&nbsp; four plots.&nbsp; The second stage is identification of ants carried out by purposive sampling technique, which is by considering the type of vegetation and altitude. The method used is bait trap, pitfall trap, and hand collecting. Collected samples were analyzed with Shannon-Wiener diversity&nbsp; index (H`), index of richeness (DMg), and evennes index (E). The result showed the ants with 2633 individuals were clasified in to 22 species, consisting of 7 genera and 3 subfamilies. The result of data analysis showed the value of the Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H`) is 2,21 (medium criteria), index of richeness (DMg) is 17,05 (high criteria), and evennes index (E) is 0,41 (stable criteria).</em></p> 2019-06-20T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2019 BIOCOLONY Analisis Kualitas Air Sungai Batang Merangin Provinsi Jambi 2019-08-07T17:41:28+07:00 Vivi Sisca Leni Marlina <p>The water quality of&nbsp; Sungai Batang Merangin can be monitored through physical, chemical and biological parameters. Water quality research was conducted with temperature research parameters, TSS, PH, DO, COD, metal (Pb, Cd and Hg) and plankton. Water samples were taken in July and August 2017. The result of measurement of water quality parameter of Batang Merangin river was obtained by temperature data of 26-29,5 ° C, maximum TSS 474 mg / L, maximum pH 7, DO maximum of 7.6 mg / L, maximum COD 61.2 mg / l, cadmium metal (Cd) maximum 0.031 mg / l, metal timbale (Pb) averaging &lt;0.02 mg / l, mercury (Hg) averaged &lt;0.001 mg / l, plankton abundance ranged from 31.2-123.2 ind / L, plankton diversity ranged from 0.204-0.672, plankton uniformity between 0.294-0.423, plankton dominance ranged between 0,226-0,706. All physical, chemical and biological parameters are still below the maximum level except for Cadmium metal value at one point according to PP 82 of 2001 and the index value of Diversity is categorized as heavily polluted according to Shannon-Wieners index.</p> 2019-06-20T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2019 BIOCOLONY
