Abstract

Fractional operations become a complicated problem in learning. Several studies and studies have shown that the difficulty of students on the subject of fractions is still quite high. Concept errors experienced by students in elementary schools need to be addressed immediately so as not to hamper students' understanding of mathematical material at an advanced level. To help students understand the concept of fractions, teaching aids in learning can be an alternative in overcoming student difficulties. With the use of teaching aids students truly understand the concepts of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions through a geometric context, so fraction operation techniques do not become mere learning techniques and skills, but are accompanied by contexts that can be understood by students. Students have the experience of manipulating objects to understand concepts and meaning of fractions, so they will be more. Mathematics learning becomes more interesting and not boring, and helps teachers make and use a teaching aid in learning Mathematical material in fractions (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Distribution).
