Abstract

The problem of this research at X IPA 3 SMA N 1 Merangin is caused by the relatively low ability of students to write. This can be seen from the analysis of student scores. The low scores of students in writing are due to students' lack of knowledge of aspects that need to be considered in writing such as Content, Organization, Vocabulary, Language use and Mechanics. On this occasion the writer scores students through text. This study aims to see to what extent students understand each aspect so that students get a much more satisfying score in the future, after knowing the students' abilities and the teacher can see which parts need to be improved. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. Data collection was taken from a test written in narrative text. The data from this study were in the form of a student grade writing test from a sample group of 22 students. It was found that the results of this study revealed the value obtained by students in the content aspect as many as 11 students or 50% who reached the KKM. Organization as many as 15 students or 68% who reach KKM, vocabulary as many as 14 students or 64% who reach KKM, use of language as many as 16 students or 73% who reach KKM, while mechanics or 11 students or 50% who reach KKM. So the total is 12 students or 55% who reach the KKM and 10 students or 45% who don't reach the KKM
