The Problem of the research was based on the researcher’s experience and interview with English teacher and students at the seventh grade of SMP N 14 Merangin on Thursday, January 18th, 2019. Most of the students had a problem in speaking ability, such as students cannot sustain spoken interaction beyond short segments, students lack of vocabulary, students speaks slowly and cannot participate actively in conversation, students were poor grammar, and students were poor pronunciation. From the total 23 students do the exam about 6 students reach the KKM and 17 students did not reach the KKM. To solve the problem above, the researcher used Callan Method to increasing the students’ speaking ability in oral presentation by using Callan Method. This research was classroom action research that consist of two cycles there were four meeting and each cycle had four step: Planning, Acting, Observing, Evaluating and Reflecting. The action done in this research used Callan Method at seventh grade of SMP N 14 Merangin. Test were given three times: Pre-test, Cycle 1 and Cycle 2.From the result of this research showed that there was an improvement of the students achievement at the sevent grade of SMP N 14 Merangin. It can be seen by the students average score in Pre-test 51,08 improve to be 59,13 in post test in cycle 1 and improve to be 73,52 in the post test in cycle 2. The conclussion of this research was improvements of students speaking ability in oral presentation at seventh grade of SMP N 14 Merangin in Academic Year 2018/2019.
