Reading comprehension that becomes important make readers have meaning full in their readingBased on observations, Desember, 06 th 2018 At the Seventh Grade students SMP IT Dhu’fa Merangin, The researcher found the some problems of teaching learning process. The students were difficult to comprehend a text. They did not know the meaning of word. In addition many of them fail when the teacher gives a task. They had prefer asking it to other studentes than open dictionary. So, They not understand the whole materials and bored during in Teaching Learning process.
This research has been conducted on Mei – July 2019 At the Seventh Grade Students SMP IT Dhu’afa Merangin Academic year 2018/2019, with the sample 22 students as class experiment and 23 students as class control.Type of the rresearch was Experimentalresearch with post test only design. The control class not given the treatement, where experimental class was given the treatment using Whole Brain Teaching Method.At the end of teaching both, the students was given instrument test of reading comprehensin multiple choice questions form. Finally the result of students post test was analyze used t-test formula.
Based on the results of the research, the researcher found that students average value, experimental class was highest than control class, experiment class was 79,818 and control class 73,739. Then, the hypothesis, the researcher foundttablewith dk = n1 + n2 (22 + 23 = 45) ( 45 – 2 = 43). Accordance with the criteria of hypothesis test, the side right if t count ≤ table, the result of test it found that turn out t count ≥ table= 5,628 ≥ 1,579, therefore Ha accepted and Ho rejected. It means that the students reading comprehension using Whole Brain Teaching method is better than students reading comprehension conventional method (teacher oriented). It is suggested for the teacher can use the WBT Method in teaching reading comprehension process.
